Abstract: |
Comparative analysis of the criteria of failure proposed by the Spanish Code, the Beta formula and Eurocode 3 for angled welded junctions under static loads, in edificationSpanish Code MV 103-1972, the Beta formula of the International Institute Weld (IIW) and Eurocode 3, propose different cirteria of failure for the calculation of angled welded junctions under static loads in construction. For this reason, the comparative analysis between them is of great interest. The study has been carried out on siomilar types of steels and on adimensional ellipsoid graphic representations. It is observed that all methodologies are less conservative in the most yielding steels, and there is a more complex behaviour in those with a greater yield strength. Furthermore, it is concluded that the Eurocode 3 proposes an improved usage for welding in relation to spanish Regulation MV 103-1972 and the majority of national codes. |
