Fatigue behaviour of welded-on plates of different shapes.Especially when designing constructions with thin plates or if it is necessary to locally induce high loads, in most cases the area of the load induction will locally be enforced with welded-on cover plates. In EN 1993-1-9 such notch details are classified in FAT class 56. This value applies for rectangular plates. With modified plate forms and matching welds, this notch detail can be classified in a higher FAT class. |
