A multifunctional slab system, which has been used successfully in numerous projects, has been developed in several steps. Within this development various requirements had to be fulfilled. In addition to the minor dead load and slenderness, aspects like fire protection, the integrated building services, the positive influence to the users comfort and the room acoustics characterize the slab system. This slab system makes necessary a coordinated work of all engineers in the planning phase. All advantages of precast production can be leveraged. So short construction periods with a constant production quality and competitive costs can be achieved. There is still some optimization potential in the field of the shear connectors.
