Abstract: Due to many factors, after the lengthy siege at the hands of Philip the Bold’s army in 1285, Girona and its region underwent a period of stagnation followed by an artistic boom. The most important factor was related to immigration and the arrival of contractors, including stonecutters, silversmiths, glassmakers, and others. They were responsible for the artistic innovation in northeastern Catalonia beginning in the 1300s.
