Abstract:

Because of ongoing rise in global warming and other environmental factors, energy analysis for civil engineering structures are becomes an important factor in the advanced economic construction industry. Forecasting the energy usage of the building, employing appropriate energy-saving measures, and design for construction are all urgently required. The current work is focused on the capabilities of Building Information Modelling, such as Autodesk Revit/Insight Plug-in to perform energy consumption and energy cost analyses on a G+2 residential buildings to predict energy consumption of the building over its entire life span. The results demonstrated the influence of various building energy parameters to analyse optimised building energy requirements and reported reduction in energy consumption and energy cost of 31.3% and 30% respectively.
