Example of design and verification of an externally prestressed concrete bridge

In this article an example of a design of an externally prestressed concrete bridge is shown, comparing with similar internally prestressed bridge. An approximate method for obtaining the increment of stress of the prestressing steel at ultimate limit state is also shown. There is also a verification of the design by comparing with a non linear analysis of the bridge.
