Abstract: |
The assessment of the accuracy of finite element calculations is one of the most important issues in modern structural mechanics. In this paper we will show that FE-results in general are not accurate because the exact influence functions are replaced by approximate influence functions. Therefore the accuracy of any quantity depends on the accuracy of the approximate influence function for this quantity. |
