Abstract:

Integration of luminous characteristics into lighting design tools using the example of an innovative sun protection system.

For reliable daylighting design in interior, precise knowledge is essential in particular on the bi-directional characteristics (spatial distribution of luminance coefficient q as a function of the light incidence) of the daylighting systems. A new method is presented with examples (RETROLux-daylighting systems), in which the measured distributions of luminance coefficients are converted, so that the results can be imported into conventional lighting design tools such as DIALux and Relux to perform calculations with photo-realistic representations.
