Abstract: |
Satellite Building at the new Terminal AreaThis paper describes several aspects and characteristics of the Satellite building, integrated in the New Terminal Area of Madrid-Barajas airport. The Satellite Building is placed between the runways, two kilometres distant from the Terminal Building and is assigned to the operation of international flights. This building is composed of two volumes and six levels (floors) in each of the bulks/volumes. The first one is the boarding dock for passengers, at two different levels, 927 m. long and 26 access doors, 16 of which are doubled in order to could operate two planes simultaneously. The second bulk is for passengers control and commercial area. The Satellite Building is connected with the Terminal Building through the Airport Services Tunnel. |
