Abstract:

The topic “Dynamic analysis of multistoried irregular building using Staad pro”is a topic of major concern as with industrialization and development most of the population opt for urban areas. The structural stability of a building has to be compromised in order to attain lateral loads due to earthquake and wind in concurrence to gravity loads. Hence, it is quite evident for a structure to have sufficient strength and enough stiffness to resist loads. Design and analysis nowadays are convenient as well as affordable just because of the availability of computers and specialized programs. The multistoried building is designed using software Staad pro v8i. The paper deals with analysing three different models of irregular multi story building (G+10) with a height of each floor as 3m having response factor as 5, importance factor as 1.2, soil type as medium soil, structure type 1 with a damping ration of 5% is taken into consideration. The loads being used in the analysis are Dead load which is considered as per IS 875 part 1, live load as per IS 875 part 2 and seismic load as per IS 1893 part 1. The beams, columns and slabs are celibately designed in software. Results of three models are then compared as per storey drift, displacement and base shear.
