Punching shear resistance of slabs without transverse reinforcement: A comparison of the codes SIA 262:2013 and DIN EN 1992-1-1:2004 + AC:2010Since 1 January 2013 in Switzerland, the revised code of the "SIA 262 Betonbau" has been in force. In the revised code the punching model has changed with regard to a few points when compared to the 2003 release. The model is formulated in a very detailed way and differs therefore significantly from the more simple approach of the Eurocode 2 (EC2). In the SIA 262, the punching shear resistance is based on a mechanical quantity, the rotation angle; in the EC2, it is largely based on a geometric quantity, the reinforcement ratio. Although the model of the SIA uses mechanical descriptions, additional empirical adaptions are inevitable because of the numerous factors which influence the punching shear resistance. Besides the different formulations, the distance of the control perimeter differs in both codes, which makes a comparison between them difficult. |
