Abstract: | In Rome, during the Republic and Empire, while there was an ever-increasing supply of new building materials and decorative stones, a large amount of material was also recovered and processed for reuse. This article sheds light on the practical aspects of this recycling, including its organization, the processes implemented in major disassembly projects, and the importance of recycling in the urban economy of construction. |
