Abstract:

An existing structure has to have its condition assessed primarily to determine whether it still meets the requirements for serviceability and safety. Continuously monitoring concrete structures can be done more effectively using NDT technologies. As a result of recent earthquakes in the Indian many existing buildings need to undergo a seismic evaluation. This project work contains condition assessment of existing RCC framed structure through detailed visual inspection and preparation of distress mapping plan along with evaluation of in-situ strength of structural components using non destructive tests. Prepared structural drawings of existing building using state of art device. Also carried out seismic evaluation based on condition assessment using FEM based software (Etabs). Standard repair/strengthening methodologies against observed deficiencies are recommended.
