Abstract:

Innovations and conceptual approach to the construction of the Constitucion de 1812 Bridge over the Cadiz Bay

The 1812 Constitution Bridge over Cadiz Bay can be considered, from a construction point of view, as a succession of four separate bridges. These include the cable-stayed bridge with dimensions that exceed any bridge built to date in our country. This large size together with the location of a significant part of the bridge over the sea, influence the choice of construction procedures and the special means and equipment necessary to carry them out. The article describes the general approach of the bridge construction, highlighting some of the special operations carried out and their control, as well as innovations both in processes and equipment.
