Abstract: |
This paper reviews the development of the study of motion perception as it relates to the comfort of occupants in buildings and structures under wind action. Design criteria for acceleration have been developed that allow a reasonable agreement internationally. Levels of acceleration as a function of return period can be used by designers to define the limits of acceptable motion for the comfort of occupants and users of buildings and structures. |
