b/t-interaction diagrams for a simple buckling assessment procedure according to EN 1993-1-5 for plates of all construction steel grades.

Following a short summary of the historical development and the main differences between the plate buckling assessments of the German code DIN 18800-3 and the new DIN EN 1993-1-5 a detailed table of the method of reduced stresses (including alternative formulas) is presented. b/t-interaction diagrams for simply supported plates of any construction steel grade with membrane stress fields Ed (sx,Ed, tEd) are provided. They fully replace the buckling assessment procedure. Finally some examples and hints of future developments are shown.
