Abstract:

Inspections for waterway infrastructure

By the constitution of German, the responsibility for the German waterways is delegated to the Federal Waterway Administration (WSV), which is part of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Development (BMVBS). In recent years the WSV together with the BMVBS and the Federal Waterways Engineering and Research Institute (BAW) have received and updated the operation, the regulations and supporting tools for the inspection at the waterway constructions. The article gives an overview of the innovation in the process of inspection.
