Abstract:

It is commonly accepted that the vehicle that can be considered the first automobile with an internal combustion engine for personal use on land routes is the one found in the Mercedes-Benz Museum, a tricycle powered by a four-stroke engine, developed by Karl Benz in 1885 from an earlier two-stroke engine.
