Abstract: |
When completed, the 292 km long Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project will connect towns in the Kashmir Valley to the lowlands of India. The Government of India declared the railway as a "Project of National Importance" in March 2002. In October 2009 a 119 km section was put into operation. Works are expected to be completed by 2018. |
