Abstract:

Potential mapping and its probability of detection

Potential mapping is a feasible non-destructive method to detect actively corroding areas in reinforced concrete structures. The probability of detection of potential mapping has a high economical impact, because the test results of this method are the basis for maintenance and repair schedules. A numerical approach is presented to evaluate the probability of detection. The probability of detection of potential mapping has been evaluated regarding the most influencing parameters like anode area, concrete resistivity and grid size.
