Comments on the design of anchors according to European regulations

The design of anchors in accordance with European regulations gives in the vast majority of applications logical results. In certain cases, also contradictory results can occur. For example, the characteristic resistance of a fastening may decrease with increasing embedment depth of the anchor. In this paper, it is shown by means of examples that this is not due to errors in the calculation but due to weaknesses of the design model. First proposals for a solution are submitted.
