Abstract: |
Analysis of curved prestressed beams (II)This paper particularizes the basic relationships stated previously (see nº 164 of this Journal) to the circular beam. For the member continuous with torsional restraints at supports a generalization of the "three bending moments equation" is obtained. The analysis of prestressed members stands out the suitability of a eccentric plan cable in order to reduce the torsional moments. The horizontal eccentricity is independent of the applied cable force and, for optimum design, is very large for angular spans in excess of 1 radian. |
