| Abstract: |
The paper reports on the current status of work on the conventionally excavated Mauls Tunnel and the mechanically bored Aicha Tunnel and presents the results of the geological, hydrogeological and geotechnical documentation. The knowledge gained from the investigation works will have great significance for the design and the implications for the construction of the main bores of the Brenner Base Tunnel. The example of the failure in the Aicha Tunnel is used to describe the measures to find the cause and the consequences for risk management are explained. |
