Abstract:

The new Acosta Bridge is a USD 148 million project crossing the St. John's River in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. This project features twin five-span structures, each totalling 501 m in length. Cast-in-place segmental concrete box girder construction was used throughout with the exception of the approach spans. The project was designed to be constructed in three separate stages in order to maintain the flow of traffic and limit the amount of additional right of way required for the new structure.
