Abstract: |
In this paper, the theoretical research on shear behaviour of concrete beams reinforced with orthogonal grid reinforcement is undertaken based on sectional analysis, focusing on the evolution of the shear crack inclination during the load process up to failure. Also, for concrete beams with shear reinforcement made out of either only vertical stirrups or only horizontal reinforcement, the evolution of the inclination of concrete strut and principal compressive stress in concrete strut were studied and the corresponding theoretical deduction governing this phenomenon was also revealed. |
