Abstract: |
Conceptual design is the soul of the overall project design. This paper lists three main types of factors affecting conceptual design including objects, subjects and carriers. The conceptual design process is composed of three parts, namely, conception and orientation process, externalization of structural form process and technical inspection process. This paper explains the realization of conceptual design process with the conceptual design of a wide city bridge. The paper introduces the selection of structural system and structural form, general layout, determinations about the size of structural members and constructional measures, conceptual estimation of the bridge structure and initial formulation of construction schemes. |
