Abstract: |
Most of movable bridges allow only one traffic mode: The pedestrian traffic is stopped when fluvial traffic is active and vice versa. On the access to Geneva’s Jet d’Eau, we imagined a bridge based on scissors-pairs mechanism to allow the passing of persons with reduced mobility in its flat position while boat-passing and non-wheelchair pedestrian traffic remain possible in its raised position. |
