Abstract: |
The project for the rehabilitation and replacement of bridges and railroad tracks of the railway line known as “Linea K” is being developed as part of the modernization of the Interoceanic Railway. The railway line runs some 450 km parallel to the pacific coast, from Ixtepec (Oaxaca) to Ciudad Hidalgo (Chiapas), through one of the most seismically active zones in Mexico. The Line Rehabilitation Project consists of 445 bridges, of which some will be rehabilitated and most will be replaced by new bridges. Within the new bridges, stands out the Huixtla urban viaduct, at the city of Huixtla. The structural solution for the new bridges consists of simply supported composite spans. In general, decks consist of twin steel girders with an upper reinforced concrete slab. |
