Abstract:

The main objective of the present work is to investigate the regularity of geodesic domes. In particular, some measures are proposed that make the regularity of geodesic domes quantifiable. Also, it is shown that the use of certain derivatives of Platonic and Archimedean polyhedra, as bases for generation of geodesic domes, can improve the regularity of the domes. These derivatives are referred to as rounded polyhedra.
