Abstract: |
Rubbre bearings made of High Damping Rubber (HDR) is one of most important type of isolation devices in Japan. In this study, the rate dependent behavior of HDR bearings was observed by dynamic loading tests. A modified rheology model is proposed for bridge seismic design. The concepts of equilibrium and instantaneous states and tests are used to measure the basic rate dependent part and rate independent part of proposed model. Parameters in the proposed model describing the rate dependent behavior are identified from dynamic loading test. Experimental verification for the proposed method was also conducted using multiple types of loading tests. |
