Abstract: |
The load data for multi-storey car parks currently available in European Standard are based on investigations carried out back in the nineteen seventies. The annual new registrations demonstrate that average as well as maximum car weights have increased markedly since then. To take the current trend of rising vehicle weights into account, the authors carried out load measurements at a multi-storey car park in Frankfurt/Main Germany. On the basis of stochastic finite element calculations it was possible to verify the results from an updated probabilistic load model. The usage of the developed load model made it possible to realize long-span slabs in multi-storey car parks, taking into account the trend of rising vehicle weights. |
