Abstract:

The switch machine gap monitoring technology is the main technology to detect the turnout’s service status and ensure the operational safety. This paper deduces a mathematical model of the gap monitoring on the basis of the analysis of the gap monitoring techniques and the working principle of the switch machine. It uses the Fiber Bragg Grating technology to extract and analyze the gap data. The results show that the use of Fiber Bragg Grating could get a more accurate monitoring of the gap, and provide a more reliable support for the switch machine maintenance at the same time.
