Abstract:

Through the narrative express of the stories on how to solve structural problems, the concept of structure can be more easily analyzed. In the story Pagoda in the Fantian Temple written by Shen Kuo, a famous scholar in Northern Song Dynasty China, ancient Chinese analyzed the stability of structure by analogy. That kind of analogy often led to uncertainty if without the complementary validity of fact. Shen Kuo laid out an excellent scientific reasoning on the stability of structure in the text narrating.
