Abstract: |
The Mawaiya Balanced Cantilever Special span is India’s longest metro span over railway track which has been delivered on an extremely fast-tracked schedule. The structural configuration of the bridge is 105 m as main span & 75 m as side span on both sides i.e. 255 m total bridge length. This bridge crosses two tier traffic as highway on first level and railway on second level which created the design as well as construction challenges. This paper discusses how the specific design & construction challenges encountered while meeting the expectations of the contractor and the client. |
