Longitudinally curved timber decking for pedestrian bridges

Abstract:

This paper describes the design and construction of an innovative system of longitudinally curved timber deck boards made up into panels for 2 recent multi award winning pedestrian bridges: Castleford completed in 2008 and Norwich completed in 2012. The system has also been used by us to make the curved benches on the Hull Scale Lane bridge that has just won a Civic Trust Award (2014).
