Abstract: |
The topic of this paper is to describe the design of the footbridge crossing the moat at the bottom of the huge walls surrounding the former Amiens Citadel in the North of France. The footbridge has to cross a span of 51 m and assure a social role. In fact, in addition to its structural role, the footbridge is a key to create the link between the former Citadel which fell forgotten and the citizens of Amiens. All the historical, social, economic and technical aspects were analysed to create the most relevant link between the future and the past. |
