Abstract: |
This paper gives an introduction of the structural analysis of a long integral bridge, provides a comparison between two different abutment systems covering soil parameters and soil-structure analysis methods. The paper discusses the innovative approach adopted to minimise the soil pressures from an integral structure abutment and reinforced soil wing walls. The complexities in reinforcement detailing of a monolithic structural connection have also been discussed. |
