Abstract: |
The subject of the present work is the generation of a multicorrelated field of turbulent wind speed. In general, this phenomenon is simulated by means of vectorial magnitudes representing intensity and speed direction. Considering its complexity, a problem of this kind is approached by means of a discretization of space into a finite number of points. Then one proceeds to the generation of the time histories of the scalar components of the “wind speed” vector. To this end we applied the “Auto-regressive linear filter method” within the framework of which we employed approximated expressions to define the functions of self- and cross-correlation. The method described can be used in different ways, the most important of which is surely that of simulating the action of wind on slender works such as smokestacks, towers and bridges. To that end the technique described herein can be applied in the elaboration of a model of aerodynamic load. |
