Abstract:

Fatigue cracks of steel structural members subjected to cyclic load, overload occasionally occur. There are some crack repair methods such as Reinforcing plate method, Weld repair method, Stop- hole method, and Mechanical repair method to be longevity of steel structural members, and they are used corresponding to the degree of damages. Among them, a mechanical repair method is repair cracking without welding. Crack progress after the construction is less and the thermal strains by welding do not occur. In this paper, fatigue test of steel structural members using the mechanical repair method is conducted. Fatigue performances of steel structural members are shown to be a basic data to propose the fatigue design method.
