Abstract: |
The growing number of deteriorating concrete structures not only affects the productivity of the society, but also has a great impact on our resources, environment and human safety. The application and applicability of the codes, sustainability requirements and methods selecting an optimal design on service extension using the tools of optimization of design life performance is demonstrated in a case study presenting the process of restoration and strengthening a concrete structure of Åland Maritime Museum. The use of selected strengthening techniques was suitable to achieve the desired service life extension and to retain integrity and authenticity of the structure. |
