Abstract: |
In this study, characteristics of spatial correlation of fluctuating wind velocity around rectangular cylinder were experimentally investigated by wind tunnel testing. According to consideration of frequency analysis, spanwise correlation length was derived from a Gaussian function fitting to the coherence. Simple evaluation of correlation property using strain gage balance was also proposed. To obtain windward correlation length, power spectra of the wind velocity time series and fitting of resonant curve of one degree of freedom were employed. Reduction of C’L by inhomogeneous section, appendages and openings, was also proposed and examined in the same manner. |
