Abstract:

This paper presents the results of slat spary accelerated corrosion test to analyze the effect of strain level on corrosion of prestressing steel strands. Corrosion degree of corroded prestressing steel strands was measured and mechanical performance of corroded prestressing steel strands was obtained by tension test. The results show that the yielding strength and ultimate strength decrease with increasing corrosion degree and the decrease of elongation is more serious. It is found the higher the level of prestressing, the greater the corrosion degree. The strain influence coefficient of corrosion degree is obtained. Strain level has no notable effect on mechanical performance of corroded prestressing steel.
