Abstract: |
Rapid cure, light weight, wear resistant, skid resistant and waterproofing are characteristics that make thin polymer overlays based on either polysulfide epoxy or methyl methacrylate an intelligent and durable decision for new construction, maintenance, rehabilitation and preservation of bridges. Two case studies will examine separate bridge projects that demonstrate durability as well as unique accelerated rehabilitation possibilities; and by discussing application criteria, this paper will give engineers the information needed to choose the appropriate overlay and polymer concrete rehabilitation materials. |
