Abstract: Horizontal force from wave to foundations is one of the critical design loads in foundation design of sea-crossing bridges. It can essentially control the design of the bridge. This paper describes the study and verification of wave load on low pier foundations of 70m spans in Dong Hai Bridge (also known as East Ocean Bridge or East Sea Bridge), including determination of design wave conditions, selection of calculation methods, wave physical modelling test, etc.
