Abstract: |
In this paper, the development of wooden damping wall with oil damper is described. The purpose of the new damper system is to reduce a maximum story drift during severe earthquakes (20% reduction by the addition of two shear walls). The main approach to achieve this objective is to design joints resisting high shear strength, to develop and verify the high performance oil damper and to assess the shear performance and story drift using time history response analysis method. The dynamic shear wall tests were also carried out to confirm the analytical study. |
