Abstract:

In this paper, development of a hybrid structure with steel hybrid beam and reinforced concrete column (FRASH method) is carried out. The steel hybrid beam is a steel beam with the beam ends being reinforced concrete. The FRASH method reduces the usage of steel, which enables the reduction of the skeleton cost. And with the hybrid beam ends being reinforced concrete, rigidity of the beam increases resulting in a reduced floor vibration and improved habitability of the building.

The outline of FRASH method, structural performance of hybrid beams in a beam-column sub- assemblage and construction example of FRASH method are discussed in this paper.
