Abstract: |
A composite steel bow string arch has been recently designed and built in Costa Rica in kilometer 44 of route 27 to jump over an active geological fault. Bridge was contracted by Globalvia (the concessionary of the route) to contractor COPISA on a design and built scheme on a fast-track basis. COPISA relied on BEWS for the detail design. Steel subcontractor was the company STEEL from Costa Rica. This paper summarizes the design and construction of the bridge. |
