Abstract: |
How to design a footbridge? Today the problem is less about technical capability and more about the ethical capacity needed to achieve a meaningful project. This paper deals with an integrated design approach and tries to define 9 rules for ensuring integral design. Based on the t hree principles defined by the Roman architect and engineer Vitrivius in his book “de architectura” firmitas, utilitas, venustas, it gives simple useful guidance for designers, clients and contractors toward achieving integral quality. |
