Abstract: | The starting point for the conception of the bridge was the bending moment curve of a two span beam running symmetrically. The big span of 60.0 m per field is reached by spanning cables and compressive arches above and underneath the main girder. The arches spanning the bridge in the longitudinal axis are different in height and generate a dynamic appearance integrating harmonically in the environment. Crossing the bridge one has a free and unhindered view of the environment in the area of the fields. In the area of the support column the construction evokes the impression of a cathedral by using the arches – up to 9.0 m high – and a network of cables. The structure combines an innovative way of calculation with a visionary design and thereby achieves an effective use of the building materials wood, steel and cables. |
