Abstract:

Axially suspended decks for road and railway bridges are considered. A variety of bridge projects adopting this typology, as developed by the author’s design office in the last few years, are referred and the main design issues related to SLS and ULS are outlined. Both static and aerodynamic behaviour are discussed.
